Sky Leeds Community Games
Location: Leeds
Date: October 2011
Yet another successful Community Games took place on October 12th at the famous Headingley Cricket Ground – our first Games in Leeds, and the second of our flourishing partnership with Sky. Richard Raynes, the Director of Operations for SportInspired, did his usual ‘talking’ role (according to him this ‘inspires’ the young people taking part!). Meanwhile Eva Keller, the Event Director, looked like a proud parent at the sight of the tangible accomplishments of her hard work.
It was not only the instantly recognizable excitement and entertainment that filled the cricket grounds on this day, but also the pure enjoyment and self-satisfaction that was visible through the faces of not only the children but the numerous business volunteers. Competitors were seen working together as teams, trying and enjoying many sports, and most importantly leaving being inspired to continue one or more of sports they discovered on the day, after the Games had finished.
