• access more support in helping their young people to participate in community sport regularly,
• help further develop their schools, by sharing their challenges and needs with our business and sport partners to access their time and talent on a volunteer basis, and
• encourage their young people to explore and embrace SportInspired’s healthy living framework (Head, Body, Heart).

Likewise, CG+ enables businesses to:

• further engage and develop their staff (especially current and future business leaders), by accessing either:

1. SportInspired’s learning and development brokering service: where we work with HR teams to match individual employee learning and developmental goals to one-off and longer term community within schools and sports clubs, or
2. SportInspired’s network of top talent development consultants: where up to 10 nominated staff can take part in a expert workshop process to explore and understand how their CG+ project will impact the Heads, Bodies, and Hearts of their community, them as individuals and their business.

And, CG+ enables sports organisations to:

• access more support in helping attract young people to their club,
• help develop their sport/clubs by accessing the time and talent of schools, other sports clubs and business volunteers.

• help their young people find a sport they love and do regularly,

• partner with local sports clubs to provide more sports opportunities both beyond and within the school boundaries.

We’re pleased to announce our efforts have been recognised by the  the Big Society Network’s “Nexters Programme”.  It’s a programme designed to identify and nuture the UK’s most promising social entrepreneurs.

Our dream of creating “The National Community Games” was given a real boost by rugby legend, Brian Moore.  He saw us present at the Sport and Recreation Alliance National Conference in May 2011 and the next day offered a huge endorsement of our campaign in an article published in the Telegraph.

Below, in more detail, is what our leisure centre and parks stakeholders can expect from us:

Step 1

Register your group of volunteers via the links we provide.

Step 2

Ask your team to provide full name, Date of Birth and whether they want to play a more active or less active role on the day.  SportInspired will need this information in order to carry out child protection checks and to allocate roles.

Step 3

SportInspired will send across the ‘Games leaflet’ and links to a dedicated Games area of our website, which you then need to  distribute to the rest of your team. The leaflet/link will include information on location, final timetable and further details about the Games.

Step 4

We will confirm assigned volunteer roles, you will need to ensure your team has watched our video briefings and read our on-line instructions.

As you can probably imagine, for a Community Games to be a success, we need more Volunteers for some roles than others, here’s the breakdown for the Community Games. Whilst we endeavour to make sure that everyone gets their chosen role, we thank you in advance for your flexibility and we’re confident that you’ll experience a fun-filled, value-adding day.  Don’t forget to inform us if there are some roles that you simply cannot do.

Please note, we are prioritising sports providers that already run a junior section or that have the intention to start one up in the near future. A number of sports will require specific coaching qualifications.

Basic Brief:

• To ensure your sport runs smoothly throughout that day
• To ensure the Competitors have fun and get a feel for what is great about your sport
• Promote your sport/club and recruit new members to your club (please bring promotion material)
• Encourage team spirit and promote fair-play

Logistics

• Rounds are 20 minutes long with a 10 minutes change over
• Each round will have two teams of approximately 10 – 15 Competitors / Mentors. All will ideally have tried your sport at some point during the 20 minutes
• You will have 8 rounds 

• Rugby, Athletics, Fives, Football, Cricket, Tennis, Goalball (a Paralympic sport played by visually impaired people), Wheelchair Basketball; Hockey, Judo, Kendo, Boccia, Archery, Baseball, Volleyball, Netball, Boxing, Gymnastics, Lacrosse and others.

• They are picked from those available locally in the borough:
• some will be provided by leaders of local community sports clubs & providers who are keen to attract new members and the rest will be delivered by our volunteers and links will be made to local clubs & providers.

Please note, the equipment will be provided by SportInspired.

Social Media Coordinator

Activity level:  to  (you’ll either be at one station doing videos or taking photos, or if you feel more energetic, you can venture around the venue to make the most of your role and the biggest impact).

Key: The activity level associated with the role:

•  you’ll be sitting back,
•  you’ll be required to walk from place to place
•  you’ll occasionally have to jog short distances
•  you’ll do some running or play sport some of the time
•  you’re likely to be sweating
