Our Theory of Change

A systemic change

We passionately believe that in order to give children and young people the best start in life, holistic intervention is key.

Our programmes build self-belief, confidence, resilience and core life skills, providing children and young people with a pathway to a
better future.

We connect a diverse community of stakeholders — from corporate volunteers and housing associations to teachers and sports coaches — to create sustainable networks that help children and young people from deprived communities to thrive.

We do this by creating sports festivals where hundreds of children come together to experience new sports in a fun and trusting environment, followed up by the implementation of so-called legacy clubs in the schools themselves so that kids can continue to learn their chosen new sport.

We also engage and train 12- to 16-year-olds as Young Leaders to support younger children in the festivals and legacy clubs, which helps them develop core life and leadership skills while simultaneously giving back to their community.

Over time, we enable communities to deliver our programmes for themselves.

SportInspired direct delivery

We deliver all elements of a programme, developing strong relationships with local businesses, schools and other like-minded organisations, training them to deliver future programmes.

Community delivery

We co-deliver all elements of the programme in partnership with community members. Teachers support us with in-school sessions and sports clubs help to organise the programmes – thereby training communities to do it in the process.
